How do you get a stuffed dress back?
A woolen sweater that you wash at a high temperature has shrunk and its fibers have hardened! Don’t panic. There are some tricks that will allow you to get your clothes back.
Soak the stuffed garment in a tub of water
One of the mistakes that should not be made is pulling the garment, thinking that it is the solution. By doing so, you risk doing more damage by breaking the wires that make it up.
Take a basin and pour warm or cold water and a few tablespoons of mild baby shampoo. If you do not have this type of shampoo, you can use conditioner or fabric softener.
Once the product is well dissolved in the water, the felted garment can be submerged in the tub, ensuring that all parts of the garment are submerged. Leave to soak for 30 minutes. After this time, remove the water from the basin.
Dry the stuffed garment with a towel
The dry towel absorbs excess water without damaging clothing. Simply lay out a dry towel horizontally and roll the wrinkled garment inside. Repeat the process several times, changing the towel if necessary. This trick will absorb excess water and help the trapped garment return to its original size.
Continue to dry it in this manner, keeping it away from heat sources. This preserves delicate and precious garments like cashmere when washed.
