As much dirt can be removed quickly, the burrs on the carpet are very difficult to remove. And for good reason, these distortions are caused by several years of pressure the furniture has put on the rug. However, the marks on the fibers are unpleasant and immediately catch the eye. Fortunately, there is a very simple way around the problem: use ice cubes.
How to proceed? Just put some ice cubes in the deformed parts and wait for it to melt softly. This way you will effectively soften the material. Then, using a fork, carefully comb the softened part in order to fluff the wet carpet back. Finally, vacuum the wet areas of the rug. Repeat the process if the bumps remain. The result: the effect before and after is amazing. You will notice that the traces are completely gone!
Why are ice cubes so effective?
The process is great: when the snow melts, the carpet fibers stretch and soften. In this way, moisture returns to the material the volume lost due to the pressure of the furniture. But then, why not just pour water on those bumps? In fact, the slow absorption of the fibers leaves no traces and facilitates subsequent drying. Thanks to ice cubes, you can moisten the bumps even more without risking the appearance of mold or unpleasant odors. This is the best way to renew rugs and carpets.
