  1. Spray the inside of the hood with white vinegar. Feel free to apply a lot, for added efficiency, especially if you find your hood to be greasy and full of dust. Leave it on for about an hour.
  1. Once this time has passed, the white vinegar will have penetrated the grease and dirt well. Deposits may have fallen on newspaper or rags that you put on your stove to protect it. In this case, clean your stove area to continue working as cleanly as possible. Remember to renew your stove protection device.
  1. Mix a little dish washing liquid in lukewarm water. Use this solution to reduce the size of the inside of the lid. Insist on very oily or dirty areas. If you have another sprayer, use it at this point, so you can spray the white water/vinegar mixture over the entire surface of the underside of the hood and into its small nooks.
  1. Now wipe the surface with a dry cloth and then let the clean cover finish air drying. Then assess the cleanliness of the washed surface and repeat the degreasing process with dishwashing liquid if necessary. Optionally, use a putty knife to remove any stubborn grease and dirt.
  1. Now to the extractor hood filter maintenance. If this filter is made of stainless steel, clean it with very hot water and washing up liquid. You also have the option to put it in the dishwasher for one or two cycles, depending on how dirty it is. Our tip: Spray the filter with white vinegar and choose a vigorous cycle at at least 70°C.

If you use single-use filters, it’s time to change them. We always advise you to get a backup filter beforehand.
