In addition to all the properties of vitamins, a lemon slice is full of virtues: it can add flavor to water or soda, perfume various spaces in the house, purify oily skin, make your hair shine … the list is still long. But who would have thought that lemon can be so useful in the car when driving. Find out why most seasoned drivers have adopted this habit!
Why is it a good idea to have a lemon in the car?
Young people today are very confused because old people often have lemons in the car. Usually it seems that many experienced drivers adopt it. At first glance, one might be inclined to think that this citrus fruit has its place in the passenger compartment of the car to perfume the place and get rid of unpleasant odors. In fact, it has nothing to do with, and the reason is not at all related to the smell, but to consumption.
During a long journey, every driver is a victim of fatigue or even drowsiness. To give ourselves a good boost, we turn up the radio volume, chat with passengers, double the cups of coffee, and stop regularly to wash our faces and rest. But sometimes you can drive alone and still have a long way to go before you find a place to rest. Driving is a rather monotonous activity: if you really start to get tired and yawn, you can just eat a slice of lemon. As if by magic, it will give you an instant boost of energy. The fatigue will gradually subside and you will be able to sit behind the wheel for a longer period of time in complete safety.
Many drivers realize that lemon has been their savior more than once. They highly recommend having some on hand at all times, especially when you’re hitting the road on a long trip.
How to effectively neutralize bad smell in the car?
We were talking above about the unpleasant odors that often fill the interior of a car. It seems almost obvious that lemon will also do the trick, as it has deodorizing properties and a delicious aroma. Except that, it is not recommended to use it in your car. Admittedly, it may smell good at first, but when lemons start to rot, they can quickly become annoying. So what is the best solution to get rid of unpleasant odors?
Of course you can buy special perfumes for the car. It works fine, albeit for a short time. Prefer the aroma of pine needles, the aroma of fresh or iodized lemon. All of these sprays have the ability to mask unpleasant odors. But for a longer intensity, you can still make homemade air fresheners.
The little trick: Put a cotton ball in a small bag and add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. This treatment is very effective in removing bad smells from the interior of the car as well as it lasts longer than conventional products.
Another way: if the task is to remove the unpleasant smell and excess moisture in the car, then ordinary soda will help you unexpectedly. Pour some into an old (clean!) sock or plastic bag and leave it in the car overnight. The next morning, you will be surprised that the stench is gone. Note that flavored sea salt has similar properties. So you can fill a few bags with them and put them in different places in the passenger compartment. Its fresh scent will completely neutralize the unpleasant smell.
Know that such tricks are regularly used by experienced motorists. You will not be able to do without it!
